Designed for those who need a peaceful, well-lit workspace, the coworking area within the Materials Library offers a calm and inspiring setting. With versatile, colourful, and functional furniture, it’s an ideal spot for client meetings or simply unwinding. And when we’re not hosting events, the library is yours to enjoy!
Every library deserves a dedicated reading space, and at MATER, we’ve created just that—a signature area with eight elevated seats offering a panoramic view of the library, perfect for settling in and getting things done.
Up on the first floor, the atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and vibrant. This is where you’ll find those who spend more time at their desks—architects, graphic designers, IT specialists, marketers, and PR & communication professionals.
But don’t be fooled! They may not be as hands-on as the makers upstairs, but their creativity sparks through the open space and studios like embers flying from the metal workshop!
The second floor is where the makers are. Many of them are so active that you’ll rarely catch them sitting at a desk!
Here, you’ll find artists painting, makers prototyping, welding, and experimenting, along with fashion designers, product designers, and a huge variety of tools to play with—right in the heart of the makerspace workshops.
For those who prefer a dedicated workspace, there are also plenty of fixed and flexible desks available, offering a separate, focused work area within all the creative buzz.
In addition to your membership, you can choose a fixed desk—yours and yours alone—or a private studio.
Here, you can shape your own maker universe, whether it’s meticulously organised or a creative chaos only you understand. Use your studio as an office and storage space, while doing the hands-on work in the workshops. Or flip it the other way around—whatever suits you best.
A little advice, though: stay connected to the community. No matter how private your space is, this is where you’ll learn the most—and that’s what truly matters.

In addition to your membership, you can opt for a dedicated desk—yours and yours alone. Leave your belongings there safely, knowing no one else will use it while you’re away. It’s perfect for long-term projects or if you prefer not to pack up your things at the end of each day.
